Johnny Appleseed Sandwiches

On Thursday we made Johnny Appleseed sandwiches.  The kids made the apples on their own and then got to eat them.  They were so proud of themselves.  We took two slices of apples, smoothed peanut butter in between the two, stuck it together, and then ate it.
Here are three girls spreading the peanut butter.
These three boys are deciding what to do next...keep spreading, put the sandwich together, or just eat it!
The kids got to lick the rest of the peanut butter they didn't use off of their popsicle stick.
These two girls are enjoying their sandwiches!
Yum!  Yum!

Our bunch!

We have an awesome group in our class.  We have 13 girls and 10 boys.  They all get along and care for each other.  I can honestly say that.  They are a great group of kids.  I am really enjoying getting to know each and every one of them!
This is our entire group minus two.  Unfortunately, we had one little girl and one little boy absent.

Apple Week

This week is all about apples. We have been working with apples in math, during Pathways, and during theme time. We are measuring, tasting, weighing, and even making a few things with apples. This is a really fun unit for the kids and they really get into it. I will post some pictures from this week closer to Friday. Thanks again for all the apple donations from each student.

Recess Time!

I think recess is part of the kids favorite time of day. They are able to see everyone that is in Kindergarten and run, yell, and just play.
One of the boys is here waiting his turn for the swing.
Isn't she swinging nicely!?

Working Hard!

The students are really taking all of their work very seriously. Here are a few pictures of us working on a September calendar.

We're off!!!

Welcome to our class blog. We are very excited to be doing this. This is a way for us to show you at home what we do in Kindergarten. We have been in school for almost a month now and the kids are really getting settled into their new routines and schedule. Stay tuned for more posts!
