Holiday Party

For our holiday party we made reindeer food and enjoyed one another's company.  The kids really liked making the reindeer food and hearing the story about why we were making it.  Have your student tell you why we made it.
We had tons food!  I just made a little buffet on our reading table and let the students serve themselves.  They thought they were pretty big being able to choose what they wanted.
I didn't get any pictures of the kids making the reindeer food since I was helping them make it.
We had a lot of fun at our holiday party.

Polar Express Day

The week before Christmas break we had our Polar Express day.  This is the day that the students experience this magical journey and compare and contrast the movie from the book.  The kids did a great job all day.  We made bells, got golden tickets, and made a drawing of what they would see if they were on the Polar Express.
The whole group
My eight wonderful and playful boys!
My eleven sweet and chatty girls!

Computer Time

Most Fridays, we are able to go to the computer lab and play on the computers.  The kids really enjoy this time and learn a lot while they are in there.  We go to Starfall.com and work on letters, sounds, and reading and we just started working with Type to Learn Jr. This program helps the students with keyboarding skills.  This is a great time to watch the students learning.

Thanksgiving Feast

Last Tuesday, we had our annual Thanksgiving Feast at Scott.  I can honestly say that this was the longest table we have ever set up for the feast.  The students had a great time!  They really enjoyed being able to prepare their own food and then eat it.  They were so proud of themselves and we were to!
The best part of my day was when one of students said, "Look, I'm an Indian!" as they were making their cornucopia in our classroom.  It just showed me that they had learned why we were doing this activity.
I hope this is an activity they will remember about always.
